Abstract
One of the most significant challenges facing the global community today is the development of clean technologies and the commercialization of research achievements in the field of clean energy. This not only helps reduce environmental pollution and conserve natural resources but also contributes to achieving sustainable development goals and addressing energy imbalances. The present study aims to identify key factors in the commercialization of research achievements in higher education institutions and research centers in the field of clean energy, with the goal of proposing strategies to improve the commercialization process and enhance the efficiency of these technologies. To achieve this, a qualitative meta-synthesis method was employed, reviewing all relevant studies published in reputable international databases from 2010 to 2024 and in domestic databases from 2010 to 2024. After screening and thorough review, 31 articles were selected for analysis. The findings were analyzed using the seven-step method of Sandelowski and Barroso, resulting in the identification of 32 concepts and 6 key categories. These categories include researcher-driven factors, environmental factors, organizational factors, supportive factors, communicative factors, and cognitive factors. This study is particularly significant for identifying communicative and cognitive factors as independent and influential elements in the commercialization of research achievements in clean energy. Furthermore, the review and analysis of a wide range of qualitative studies provide a deeper understanding of the existing literature in this field. The findings of this study can be directly applied to national macro-level planning and policy-making in the energy sector, contributing to the improvement of the commercialization process for related research.
