پیامد‌های کرونا (COVID-19) بر محیط‌زیست

چکیده

انتشار جهانی ویروس کرونا (COVID-19) در مدت زمان کوتاه، کاهش چشمگیری در فعالیت‌های صنعتی، حمل‌و‌نقل و فعالیت‌های گردشگری داشته است که به تبع آن سبب بهبود شرایط محیطی از جمله کیفیت هوا و آب رودخانه‌ها و شرایط حیات‌وحش شده است. اگرچه اقدامات صورت گرفته برای کنترل شیوع ویروس باعث کند شدن یا توقف فعالیت‌های اقتصادی نیز شده است اما موجب تعامل انسان با طبیعت در این زمان بحرانی گردیده که به نظر می رسد برای طبیعت و محیط‌زیست مفید واقع شده‌است. هدف از این تحقیق نشان‌دادن اثرات مثبت و منفی غیر مستقیم کووید-19 بر محیط‌زیست است. این مطالعه نشان می‌دهد که بحران همه‌گیری ویروس کرونا، کیفیت هوا را به طور قابل توجهی در شهرهای مختلف جهان بهبود بخشیده است و همچنین سبب کاهش انتشار گازهای گلخانه‌ای، آلودگی آب و سر‌و‌صدا شده که ممکن است به بازسازی سیستم اکولوژیکی کمک نماید. در مقابل، پیامد‌های منفی ناشی از کووید-19 نیز وجود دارد، ازجمله افزایش ضایعات پزشکی، استفاده بی‌رویه از مواد ضدعفونی کننده، دفع ماسک و دستکش و بار زباله‌های تصفیه نشده که می‌توانند باعث افزایش مخاطرات محیط‌زیست و بهداشتی شوند. بنابراین همه‌گیری کووید-19 دارای اثرات مثبت و منفی متعددی بر محیط‌زیست است، هرچند به نظر می‌رسد اثرات مثبت آن کوتاه مدت و اثرات منفی آن دراز مدت باشند.
